I remember Donna well and recall her love of life although she knew she would not live as long as many of us did. She was an inspiration for living in the moment. I believe she died when we were freshmen or sophomores.
I just came across Donna's story again and I just can't pass up this story from the sixth grade at St. Joe's. Donna brought her new white bunny to class and first thing in the morning was holding the animal in her arms outside when a nun came up to Donna and said that the bunny would have to stay in a box in the school. So the nun took the bunny in her arms and the bunny peed all over the nun's black habet. Every one of us laughed out loud and we were all afraid of the anger of that nun. But SAFETY in NUMBERS! Oh Donna...You were smiling that day. Rest in peace with the smile on your face. Love, Mark
