Debra MacDonald Obituary

Debra L. MacDonald
1953 - 2026
West Springfield
Debra L. "Deb" (Page) MacDonald, 72, died Monday, January 26th following complications from a recent illness. Fighting with incredible determination and grace, Deb ultimately passed due to medical complications while bravely confronting cancer for the second time. A 1972 graduate of Needham High School, Deb was born in Springfield, and was the youngest daughter of the late John and Joyce (Bleinkhorn) Page. After multiple residencies in the Mid Atlantic region while her husband assisted Friendly's Ice Cream open new locations outside of New England, Deb and her young family settled in West Springfield in 1980. A lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins and then Springfield Indians, she had an amazing career with Bay Bank Valley of Springfield as a Managing Technician in ATM Operations. After working through multiple corporate mergers and name changes, she left the bank to work as a Technical Manager for Professional Services for Diebold, Incorporated. Splitting her workload between North Canton, OH and her home office, she was affectionately referred to as "The Terminator" by her direct reports and counterparts alike until her retirement in 2009. Deb was a constant source of light. She greeted everyone she met with an honest smile and an open heart. She lived her life through a lens of unwavering optimism, choosing to see the beauty in every moment and the good in every person. Her love for her friends and family was limitless, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will forever warm the hearts and minds of those who she met along the way. She leaves her husband of 53 years Glenn D. MacDonald; two sons Scott and Cory MacDonald; a brother George Page, sister Cynthia Siegler, five grandchildren; Ian, Hailey, Hayden, Starla and Chad, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. Sadly, she was predeceased by her son Chad MacDonald in 1990, and her brother Dennis Page. A celebration of Deb's life will be held privately, and the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Cancer House of Hope in West Springfield.
