I was very sorry to be sharing the sad news about John Nugent that I learned from his sister, Jan Freitag. John passed away on October 25, 2023. I remember his keen sense of humor, athleticism, kindness, stories and his smile. He was a wonderful friend, neighbor, classmate and teammate. My thoughts and prayers are with John and his entire family.

David,   thanks very much for posting this information about John.   Sorry to hear that he is no longer with us.   I remember him from elementary school and from junior high school, mostly from the soccer team.

Thanks David for this unfortunate news. John was a fixture in our class and I have many memories of playing tennis with him while we were in school together. Until our 50th reunion I never appreciated the affect of seeing our class mates slowly going away. I hope John is resting in peace.

I knew John since Newman JHS and remember his quick smile, bright alert darting eyes, and how he made everyone around him smile. I never knew he went to Bates (I was 22 miles SE at Bowdoin); hurrah for another Maine-schooled NHS Rocket.  God bless you in heaven, John.

I knew John since 2nd grade at High Rock. He and Mark Malconian(RIP) and I were best friends for a long time, the Country Way gang!! Even after we graduated, the 3 of us would get together during college semester breaks and trade stories. His sister, Jan, kept me updated on his condition. I will miss him, but I have a lot of great memories of past events, both social and athletic. My condolences to Mike, Jan, Tim, FW and their families.
