RICHARD DISABATO OBITUARY
Richard Joseph "Richie" DiSabato, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the age of 70. He was born on December 17, 1952, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the son of the late Rocco J. DiSabato and Barbara Dunphy DiSabato. Richie graduated from Needham High School in Needham, Massachusetts and the Culinary Institute of America in New York.
Richie is survived by his sister, Monica DiSabato Greer of Hammond, Louisiana, twin brother, Robert Joseph DiSabato and wife Joan of Westwood, Massachusetts, sister, Laura DiSabato Hurley Gagnon and husband Jerry of Danvers, Massachusetts, and 8 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richie was preceded in death by his brother, Nick DiSabato and brother-in-law, Robert H. Greer.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Ponchatoula Community Care Center and Passages Hospice for their compassionate care.
Services will be held privately and Richie will be placed with his family in Newton Cemetery in Newton, Massachusetts.

Rich and I hung out a lot in fifth and sixth grade, before he went to Pollard and I went to Newman.
Richie's family owned a winery in California. Does anyone remember DiiSabato Wines? They advertised on the radio when we were young. I will always remember Richie took $100 from his father's cash stash. We went to the Needham carnival. Can you imagine two young kids with $100 considering the average cost of rides and games was probably $10 cents. Talk about pigs in shit....

R.I.P. Richie. Richie got me my first job in 9th grade washing dishes at a breakfast place in the Heights (can't remember the name). Learned a lot there and we had fun doing a lousy job. His father Rocco was always at the counter conducting business of some sort. Richie was a great guy, easy to like and I'm sure he will be missed by his family and friends.
