Deborah Palmer Obituary
Deborah Baker Palmer died peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Dacula on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the age of 69. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Dennis, her daughters Lindsey, Katherine and her husband Andy, her step grandsons Drew and Wesley and her grandchildren Kimber and Lawson. She was born Deborah G. Baker, the youngest of five siblings in Needham, Massachusetts at Glover Hospital. She attended Needham High School where she graduated in 1972. Deborah continued her education at the University of Massachusetts Amhurst with a bachelor's degree in education in 1976. Deborah moved to Georgia in 1978 and started her teacher career in Gwinnett County at Arcado Elementary. She earned her Master and specialist degree as she continued to teach for 38 years. She was retired for 5 years before her death. Her nickname was sweet Debbie Baker and that is who she was, a sweet, caring, loving, genuine person that always put others before herself. She will always be loved and missed but she will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2023, in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

You look at Debbie's yearbook photo, and you remember her pretty smile and friendly demeanor like it was yesterday. Similar to looking at the names of our 64 fallen classmates on the memorial poster at our 50th, I have this sort of speechless reaction to reading the news of her passing. Just don't get it quite honestly. I think I need to call up our classmate Dan Callahan here in SF and have a couple stiff shots at the bar and try and make sense of it. Debbie, please rest in peace.
